Internet Marketing Tips - Check Your Keywords Often

Niche research is critical to success online. You need to know what niches have demands and what keywords prospects are using to look up their problems. However, you can’t just do your keyword research for a niche one time and leave it alone after that. You need to check your keywords often. I’d say at least on a monthly basis, if not more. But why? Why does it matter? Do things change that much? Well, you’d be surprised. This article explains.

Let me start off with the more common reason why you need to check your keywords often. Some niches are not year round. For example, the holiday niches. They’re very specific to a certain time frame. So you’re going to want to do research on when the most searches are for these niches. Other niches are seasonal simply because of the weather. For example, people are not going to be looking for snowblowers right after the winter ends. They might start around the middle of fall. Some might wait until winter. Again, researching trends will help.

Another reason you want to research your keywords often is because things change. For example, in the make money online niche, there are always new ways of promotion and new technologies coming out. At one time, believe it or not, there was no YouTube, no Twitter, no Facebook and so on. If you didn’t constantly keep up with some of the newer promotional mediums, you wouldn’t know about the keywords people were using to look up info for those mediums. Take Bum Marketing. Now it’s a household name and anybody who sells an article marketing book uses that keyword to get traffic. At one time…it didn’t exist.

On the other side of the fence, you have keywords that literally die. They become outdated because something has taken their place. You don’t want to be using keywords in a promotion that nobody is looking up any longer. That’s just wasted time and money.
